Nub Competition!

So today I thought it would be fun to make a 'nub' competition! All you have to do is make your doll look super nubby and the 'biggest loser' [who will be decided by the bloggers] will win a surprise present of their choice!

Rules:

  • You may only enter once
  • You should not post with a picture next to it
  • The doll can be someone elses.
Post the pictures on imm.io either on This Topic or in the comments below!
You know what bad dolls look like so go ahead, get creative and nubby!
Enjoy!

Sales!

When there's a sale in a stardoll store, it always means new stuff is coming to replace the old items.
This means that they won't be there any more so it's a good idea to stock up quickly on all the sale items!
Currently, there is a big 50% off sale in Doree and Splendid, so go and have a look before the items are no longer available!
Click the images below to be directed to the shops.

New DOT for MSW 2012

---

---

One of the things I did notice about this new makeup, is that the brushes are a lot bigger than the old makeup, which is quite annoying in my opinion. The picture below shows this, along with an example of a makeup look you can try out using just the new DOT.

--

I love Christopher Kane's outfits, and at the 2010 London Fashion Week, at one part in the catwalk he used pastel colours to create a vintage outfit with a modern twist.

Realistic Dolls

When stardesign hair came out, there was about a month of hair making before someone started a trend of 'Real looking dolls' and they can be seen everywhere. I personally really like the natural looking real dolls. Examples of those include Happyangi and *fashion*girl* who have used the stardesign hair in a clever way to contrast with makeup and create shadows and contour lines.
As you can see,  her doll is very real looking. Non SS can do it too by using the 'Brave' makeup and asking around for SS to make them a simple cheek bone or nose line.
"I love them, they are so creative c:" -Georgia Nerdgirlxxx

"I think some are amazing, Rojda32 for example is just amazing, but others are kinda try hard and just look stupid."- Flo Big_fish_

"if you can make it work. then they look amazing c;" -Emma Baileydog123

"i love realistic dolls, i am jealous of everyone who has a realistic doll i want one but cant make em." Katy Misskatyann

"They can look amazing. But some people take it too far and make them look like they've got a d!rty face that needs a wash" - Tessa Blackice_fairy

I agree that a lot of dolls look amazing with them, but others take it too far.
To achieve this look correctly, you should keep the colours brown and minimal makeup. Think about how you look in the mirror and where the shadows are.

Nikki and Lauren [Lollie-pop1234] have another great example of a real [but kept to a minimal] doll. I have circled the places they've added shading to make the doll look amazingly real. Simply by defining the eyes and cheeks is a great effective way of making your doll stand out.

But not only does the shading make for a great realistic doll, it's also the features. Think about where the eyes and lips are in proportion with the nose. Look on Google images for help too. Think about it, do the lips look real? Can your nose actually be that high up? Is that skin tone too light?

Good luck, try it yourself!

"It looks really good on some people, but it makes some people look a mess. i dont like it when the shading is too dark either." - Megan Missfreak28

Red and Gold (continued)

This and the last outfit remind me of Aladdin. It must be the gold.
Again I used the same belt as the other outfit because it is amazing.
I regret using this skirt because of the pink on it, it doesn't suit the theme.

Sorry!

I sort of abandoned this blog for a while but not to worry, I've remembered about it now so more posts shall be coming shortly :')
Sorry for forgetting you old friend.
